Personality and perception of emotion changes across cultures and languages

In the increasingly international world we find ourselves in, it is more than common for people to speak a number of languages and actively communicate across countries and cultures. Since languages already have such different pitches, tones and cultural background, it is common that we feel a sense of confusion in perceiving and conveying emotions in different situations. Some might even feel that their personalities differ depending on the language in which they communicate in. Experience and close relations with different cultures might although minimize the effects of “distorted” perception and projection of emotion.
