Advances in the sciences lead to explanations why we find music, film and paintings appealing. What ramifications might that have for the arts? Will the "magic" be lost? Is science the death-knell of genuine man-made beauty?

And when I fall asleep, I fly to Neverland

It is late, you are noticing that you find it hard to keep your eyes open and even though you really need to finish your paper, you decide to go to bed.  When you finally fall asleep, it starts. The process of dreaming. When thinking about the concept dreaming, lots of questions occur in my head. Questions like when do we dream? Why do we dream? Why, when we dream, we most of the time forget what we dreamt or do not remember that we dreamt at all? However, in this weblog I will not answer these questions. Instead I want to give you some general information focussing on dreaming in general and which parts of are our brain explain why dreams always looks so real and why we are not surprised when ‘weird’ things happen in our dream.
