Emotiv Control Panel
Control Panel is the central application in the software package that comes with the Emotiv Epoc hardware. It receives and processes the brain signals in various ways. The Control Panel has four main functionalities or suites:
- The setup panel, with tips and indicators for improving signal quality
- Expressiv suite, which monitors facial expressions
- Affectiv suite, which monitors objective emotion or affect
- Cognitiv suite, where you can train a thought pattern to trigger an action

Emotiv Testbench
A more professional application that allows you to record brain activity and access the raw data, but with less fancy bells and whistles. The main screen shows a graph with the recorded signal of each sensor, and a second screen shows a waveband breakdown (Fourier Transform) for one sensor at a time.
Neurovault
An independently developed application for the Emotiv Epoc which can be used to record webcam videos synchronized with a subject's emotional response. More user-friendly than Emotiv Testbench, with more limited but also more accessible output.
Experiment Wizard
The Beta Lab Experimenter is a custom-built application that assists students in designing and performing brain experiments. It can present a series of images (.png, .gif, .jpg, .bmp), video (.avi, .mpg, .mp4, .mov) or auditive stimuli, and collect and synchronize data for each of the stimuli, such as brain activity per sensor and per waveband, as well as user response and response time, and attributes of the stimulus and the subject.

WEKA
WEKA is a machine learning suite developed at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. It can be a useful tool in analyzing and finding relations in the large amounts of data collected with the Epoc device.
